HERstory (2009)
What is HERstory?
HERstory is an empowerment and leadership conference for young women ages 13 to 16 years. This unique, one-day conference was designed to assist young women in developing a healthy mind, body and soul.
Through a series of capacity building workshops facilitators provide direction and resources to the young women, empowering them to address and overcome barriers they face in their daily lives and in the communities in which they live. The ultimate goal of this conference is to equip young women with supports and networks they can use to accomplish their goals.
2009 is HERstory's fourth year. The theme of this year's conference is 'My Sister's Keeper'. This year's conference will also feature a workshop series for practitioners.
